Father, Son and Brother Ghost

€18.00

Father, Son and Brother Ghost is a book about brotherly love and a meditation on the relationships between the author’s father, brother and himself. It’s also a reflection on the deaths of three stillborn children within the family and the resonance of their loss through the decades. Written with empathy, sadness, anger and hope, Father, Son and Brother Ghost follows a road towards understanding and reconciliation.

This is a beautiful book. Superbly and movingly written. A life and time recalled without sentiment. John MacKenna casts a cold eye on the sometimes indifferent cruelty of life and the unexpected joy of lanterns lit in the darkness.
